Before You Transfer Your Website!
Before we can migrate your website, you need to make sure you have the following:
- The name of your domain registrar (where your domain is hosted such as GoDaddy, etc..).
- Your registrar account login credentials. Some registrars like GoDaddy also use your phone number for verification so please make sure you have that information if applicable.
- A shared or dedicated cloud hosting account with Liberation. If you do not currently have Liberation hosting, please purchase one today. We will not be able to migrate your site without an active hosting plan.

We highly recommend transferring your domain to Liberation.
This will make the migration process much easier for our Migration Team.
If you need your website transferred immediately, we can still complete the migration, we just may need to obtain authorization codes from your domain registrar.
- Login to your current registrar and start the transfer process to Liberation. You will be given an EPP code to authorize the transfer process to Liberation.
- Revisit this page and click on the button below to start the transfer process.
- Search for your domain.
- Click the “Transfer” button.
- Click the “Checkout” button.
- Enter the EPP code from #1 into the box labeled “EPP Code”.
- Complete the checkout process. You have now created a Liberation customer account where you can manage your domain(s) and other Liberation products.

How long does a website migration take?
Most sites are moved within a few business days once we have access. Larger or custom sites take longer, and we give you a timeline with your quote.
How much does a website migration cost?
Migrations start at $250 for a small site, $500 for a medium site and $1,000 for a large site, unless migration is included with your hosting plan. You get a quote before any work begins.
Will my website go down during the migration?
There is usually no downtime. If any is needed, it is minimal and scheduled during off-peak hours.
Which platforms can you migrate from?
We migrate from over 25 supported CMS and site-builder platforms, including WordPress, GoDaddy, Wix, Squarespace and Shopify.
Can you move my email as well?
Yes. Our email transfer service moves mailboxes from Gmail, Microsoft 365/Outlook, GoDaddy, Yahoo, Rackspace and more.
Do I have to transfer my domain too?
No, but we recommend it. Transferring your domain to LiberationTek makes the migration simpler. If you keep it elsewhere, we may need an authorization (EPP) code from your registrar.

When you decide to transfer your website, a little preparation keeps the move smooth. Gather your current hosting login, your domain registrar details and a list of any email accounts tied to the site. Our team handles the migration for you, and moving from another provider is free.
What to check before you transfer your website
- Note which pages, forms and plugins matter most so they can be tested after the move
- Keep your current hosting active until the new site is confirmed working
- Decide whether your domain and email will move at the same time
