We never track, sell, or share your data or activity — a real privacy guarantee, not just a line in a policy page.
OS patching, control panel maintenance, 24/7 monitoring, and free migration are included standard — never billed as surprise add-ons later.

What an unmanaged cloud instance actually costs once you add control panel, backups and someone to administer it — next to a fully managed U.S. Private cloud server.
No — and that’s by design. Liberation is priced for businesses that need a server that’s actually managed: patched, monitored, backed up, and supported by a real person. If you only need raw compute and don’t mind managing Linux yourself, an unmanaged server will always be cheaper. If you want your infrastructure handled so you can focus on your business, Liberation is built for that.
Every plan includes OS and kernel patching, control panel maintenance, 24/7 hardware and uptime monitoring, standard DDoS protection, and daily automated backups — all included standard, not sold as add-ons.
Yes. You can move up from Sentinel to Steward, Sovereign, or Citadel at any time as your traffic, storage, or client count grows, and our team handles the move for you.
On servers Liberation owns and operates in the United States. We don’t lease capacity from third-party clouds, and we never track, share, or sell customer data or activity.
Every Private Cloud plan includes free migration (1 to 30 sites depending on your plan) — our team handles the transfer so your site experiences minimal to no downtime.
No. Every Liberation Private Cloud plan includes a generous bandwidth allowance, and we don’t charge egress or data-transfer overage fees the way major cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud do. If your traffic genuinely outgrows your plan, we’ll talk to you about upgrading — you won’t just see a surprise line item on your invoice.
Sometimes. A private cloud server is the right call when your site earns money, when you work in a regulated field and have to describe how client data is protected, or when nobody on your team wants to run a server but you still need reserved resources. It is overkill for a five-page site that gets a few hundred visits a month — shared hosting or our site builder will serve you better and cost a fraction.
We would rather tell you that now than sell you the wrong tier. Our guide to web hosting for small business compares all four options honestly, including the cases where you should not buy a private cloud server.
A private cloud plan. You get your own resources and more control than shared hosting, without managing a large cloud account.
The smallest plan that covers your peak traffic with room to spare. Compare CPU, memory, storage and bandwidth across the plans on this page.
Start with the plan that covers your normal traffic with headroom, then move up when you see usage near the limit. Moving to a larger plan does not require changing providers.
Not sure Private Cloud Hosting is the right fit? See our Shared Hosting plans for smaller sites, or Dedicated Hosting for maximum performance at scale.
The usual signs are a site that slows down at busy times, a plugin or cron job that needs more memory than a shared plan allows, or a resource-limit warning from your host. Private Cloud Hosting gives you guaranteed CPU, RAM and NVMe storage that nobody else on the machine can eat into. If none of that sounds familiar yet, shared hosting is still the sensible choice and we will say so.
This is the gap most providers leave open. Unmanaged cloud instances hand you root and walk away; managed platforms take root away to keep things simple. Fully managed Private Cloud Hosting gives you both — root and SSH when you need them, with our team handling patching, monitoring, backups and the control panel license as standard rather than as paid add-ons.
Agencies and developers running client sites need isolation, predictable renewal pricing and someone to call at 2am. If you are reselling hosting under your own brand rather than just hosting your own projects, our reseller hosting builds on the same Private Cloud Hosting platform with control panel and white-label nameservers included.
Private cloud hosting gives your site its own slice of a server instead of sharing every resource with hundreds of other accounts. That is why many growing sites move to private cloud hosting once shared plans start to feel tight.
With LiberationTek private cloud hosting you get a control panel, free migration, daily backups and U.S. support, as described on this page.
Private cloud hosting tends to suit you when:
If you are not sure yet, compare shared web hosting with private cloud hosting and pick the smallest option that fits.
Fast pages depend on more than the server. Google describes the metrics that matter in its Web Vitals guidance, and they apply to any private cloud hosting plan.
Keep your software updated, remove plugins you do not use and keep backups. Good private cloud hosting handles the server side, and you handle the site itself.
Planning a move? Our comparison pages show how private cloud hosting from LiberationTek stacks up, and we offer free migration from another provider. Pick a plan above to get started with private cloud hosting today.
Whatever you choose, make sure the private cloud hosting provider offers real support, because a server that is hard to reach is a problem when your site goes down.
Private Cloud plans are advertised on resources — cores, memory, storage — and sold on the promise of root access. Root access is genuinely useful, and it is also the whole catch: it means the operating system is yours now. Whether that is an upgrade or a liability depends on exactly one thing, which is whether somebody is going to look after it.
So there is really only one question on this page: managed or unmanaged? On an unmanaged server you handle distribution updates, PHP and database versions, the web server configuration, the firewall, certificate renewal, and backups you have tested. That is a real saving when you or your team genuinely do all of it. It is a false saving when the server is configured once and then forgotten, which is the normal outcome.
The symptom to watch for is nobody being able to answer the question “when was this last patched?”. An unpatched internet-facing server is not a risk that builds slowly and politely — it is fine for a long time and then it is somebody else’s. If you cannot name the person responsible for updates, you want managed, whatever the price difference looks like on paper.
The second question is whether you need a private cloud server at all. A private cloud server makes sense when you need software a shared or managed plan will not run, when you want isolation from other customers, or when a specific configuration is required. It does not make a WordPress site faster by itself: an unoptimized site on a large private cloud server is slower than a well-configured one on managed hosting, and that is an expensive mistake to make.
We sell both and we will tell you which one you want. If the answer is that you need managed WordPress rather than a private cloud server, we would rather say so than take the larger order. Prices are published, support is based in the United States, and Website Migration is included with hosting, email and Hub plans. If you are not on a plan, or you want a one-off move, it is $250 if you are moving something in. Book a call and tell us what the server actually has to run.
Liberation can transfer your website content from most site builder platforms.
Handle Traffic Spikes With Ease
A virtual private server, or private cloud server, is a slice of a physical server with its own dedicated resources. Virtual private servers sit between shared hosting and a full dedicated server.
Look for a provider that manages the server for you, includes a control panel, offers migration and has support you can reach. Liberation private cloud server is fully managed with a control panel, and free migration.
Shared hosting splits one server among many sites. A private cloud server gives you reserved cores, memory and storage, so other sites cannot slow yours down.
Don’t like managing? We offer managed services for hosting, ecommerce, web sites, and more.
