Backups Billed As A Percentage
DigitalOcean charges 20% of the Droplet price for weekly backups or 30% for daily. On a $96 Droplet that is $28.80 a month for daily copies. Liberation includes daily automated backups with 50 GB to 500 GB of backup storage depending on plan.
No Bandwidth Surprises
Outbound transfer above a Droplet's allowance is billed at $0.01 per GiB, so a traffic spike shows up on the invoice. Liberation VPS plans include 6 TB to 32 TB of bandwidth and we never bill egress or overage fees.
