Gun-Friendly Web Hosting, From A Company That Owns Its Own Servers

Hosting, e-commerce, business email and customer email marketing for the firearms industry — websites, ranges and gear retailers — on hardware and mail infrastructure we own in the United States.

Gun-friendly web hosting means a provider that knew what your business was before you signed up and has no upstream party able to overrule that. We own the data centers and the SMTP servers, so there is no registrar, host or mail relay in a position to reconsider your industry later. Hosting from $59 a month on annual billing, business email from $1.95 a mailbox, and customer email marketing from $10 a month. We build and host the store and integrate with your firearms-friendly processor — we are not a merchant acquirer.

The Record: Who Has Already Cut Off This Industry

Every item below is something the provider published itself. This is the evidence base for the whole category, consolidated in one place so you do not have to take anybody’s word for it.

GoDaddy — removed AR15.com, January 2021

GoDaddy issued its own statement confirming it gave AR15.com, then the largest firearms forum on the internet, notice to move to another registrar. A registrar is the single point of failure for any business: lose it and the website, the store and the email all go dark at the same moment.

PayPal — firearms and ammunition prohibited

PayPal’s Acceptable Use Policy names ammunition, firearms, and certain firearm parts and accessories among the transactions it does not permit. Most businesses discover this when funds are already held.

Stripe — firearms listed as restricted

Stripe’s published restricted-business list covers rifles, shotguns and pistols, along with regulated parts and accessories including suppressors. Restricted means conditional and revocable, not safely onboarded.

Intuit — thousands of merchant accounts closed

Intuit closed firearms merchant accounts en masse and reversed the policy only in September 2023, following a U.S. Senate Commerce Committee investigation. The affected businesses were given no transition period.

Shopify — firearms sellers removed in 2018

Shopify updated its acceptable-use terms and removed sellers in the firearms category. A rented storefront can be taken away along with the platform’s change of mind.

And the quiet one: email marketing

Losing a host is loud. Losing the email platform that holds your customer list is quiet, and it costs more, because the list is the asset you spent years building. It is the most common removal event in this industry and the least discussed.

Why Owning The Mail Servers Is The Part That Matters

This is the difference between a promise and an architecture, and it is worth understanding before you choose any provider in this space.

Most values-aligned hosts resell somebody else’s mail

A host can mean every word of its no-cancellation promise and still be unable to keep it, because the email platform it resells runs on a third-party relay with its own acceptable use policy. That policy governs. The promise is sincere and structurally empty.

Liberation Campaign runs on our own SMTP and our own software

No relay sits between your list and your customers. There is no upstream policy that can override ours and nobody outside this company in a position to decide the firearms industry is more trouble than it is worth.

The honest limit

Owning the relay removes policy risk entirely. It does not repeal deliverability: receiving providers still filter on their own terms, so authentication, list hygiene and sending behaviour still decide inbox placement. We configure those properly and will tell you when the problem is your sending rather than our servers.

The one thing we do not solve

Payment underwriting. Firearms and firearms-adjacent merchant accounts need a specialist acquirer, and any host implying otherwise is setting you up for the problem you already have. We build and host the store and checkout and integrate with the processor you use.

Three Businesses, Three Different Pages

The industry is not one customer. Pick the one that describes what you actually run.

Firearms retail and FFL dealers

Gun stores, FFL dealers and ammunition retailers selling regulated items. Compliance-gated checkout, FFL transfer workflows, inventory sync and migration off a rented platform. The compliance workflow itself stays yours, stated in writing. See the firearms and FFL dealers page.

Ranges, clubs and training facilities

A range is a retail counter, a membership program, a training school and a building full of networked hardware. Membership billing, lane booking, waivers, POS and camera networking, and the class announcements that fill your calendar. See the gun ranges and shooting sports page.

Gear, surplus and preparedness retail

You sell plate carriers, pouches, optics, knives, surplus and food storage — no regulated items — and you still get swept into restricted categories written for firearms. Store hosting, drop-day capacity and a customer list that cannot be cut off. See the tactical gear and preparedness page.

What Runs On It

Hosting sized for a Saturday and a drop day

Dedicated resources rather than a shared box with neighbours you cannot see. Traffic in this industry is spiky by nature — a sale, a restock, a product announcement, a news cycle — and shared hosting fails exactly when it costs you.

Business email on your own domain

Sales, transfers, gunsmithing, instruction and management, on servers we own in the United States. We do not scan message contents and we do not sell or share your data, and our acceptable use policy is published so you can read what we will and will not act on.

Security proportional to the target you are

Firearms businesses attract hostile attention as a matter of routine. Hardened hosting, monitoring, encrypted off-site backups from $2.09 a month and a restore we have actually run.

What It Costs

Per seat and per plan, across all three business types.

2A Friendly Hosting FAQs

Ownership. Ask who owns the data centers, who owns the mail servers, and whether any upstream provider can overrule the promise. A reseller can mean it completely and still be unable to keep it when the platform underneath changes its terms.

No, and we say that plainly rather than let you find out later. Firearms and firearms-adjacent businesses need a specialist acquirer. We build and host the store and checkout and integrate with the processor you use.

Yes. Liberation Campaign runs on our own SMTP servers and our own software, so no third-party relay policy can override ours. This is the removal event that hits this industry most often and the one we can answer for completely.

If you hold an FFL and sell regulated items, the firearms and FFL dealers page. If you run a range, club or training facility, the gun ranges page. If you sell gear, surplus or preparedness products and no regulated items, the tactical gear page.

We own the hardware, the mail infrastructure and the company. There is no investor group, no upstream host and no mail relay in a position to quietly rewrite the rules on us, which is the mechanism by which this normally happens.

In data centers we own and operate in the United States. Not resold capacity and not a region selected by a platform for cost reasons. We will name the facility in writing.
