Switch To 2A Friendly Web Hosting Before The Deadline

If you need to switch to 2A friendly web hosting because a host gave you notice, you have more time and more options than the email suggests. Liberation hosts any business that follows state and federal law, on servers we own in the United States, and our Migration Team can do the move for you.

Below is a seven step plan for moving a gun store, range, club or self defense site without losing orders or search traffic.

2A friendly hosting plans and pricing

Every plan here takes any business that follows state and federal law, runs on servers Liberation owns in the United States, and includes migration — a person moves your site, tests it and schedules the cutover.

Shared Cloud Hosting

$7.99/mo

on a 3-year term, or $14.99 month to month

Two sites, 10 GB NVMe storage and a free domain on annual terms. The usual choice for a store, range or club site moving off a host that gave notice.

Private Cloud Hosting

Need email that will not drop you either? 2A friendly private email starts at $1.95 per mailbox a month. Not sure which plan fits? Web hosting for restricted industries explains how we assess a move.

The same terms apply across our conservative web hosting line, not just to firearms businesses.

Switch to 2A friendly web hosting questions

My host terminated my gun store website. What should I do first?

Download a full backup of your files and database right away, then keep a copy somewhere you control. After that, choose a new host and plan the move before the deadline.

Can you move my site for me?

Yes. Our Migration Team moves sites from many platforms after reviewing them and sending a quote, and managed WordPress and private cloud plans include free migration. See our transfer your website page.

How long does a move take?

Timing depends on the size of the site and your deadline. Tell us the date when you contact us and we will plan the move around it.

Will my website go down during the move?

Not if it is planned. We build the new site first, test it, then point your domain at it, and the old host keeps running until the switch.

Will my email keep working?

Email can stay where it is or move with the site. Using email on your own domain makes either option simple, and we can migrate mail, folders, calendars and contacts.

What if my new host also changes its terms?

We do not keep an industry exclusion list, and we do not remove a lawful site for what it sells. Keep your domain at a registrar you control and keep your own backups, so you can always move again.

What switching to 2A friendly web hosting really involves

A termination notice feels urgent, and it is. It is also a normal, solvable problem. Your domain, your content and your customer list belong to you. The only thing that has to move is the hosting.

Owners search for this in different ways: a gun store website terminated, a host that terminated my gun website, or how to move a gun shop website quickly. The answer is the same each time. Take your backup, pick a host that does not exclude your industry, and move before the deadline.

A 2A friendly hosting migration comes down to four things: a backup, a plan, a test and a domain change. To move gun shop website files safely, follow the seven steps below. For selling and shipping rules, see the ATF or ask your attorney.

Lawful is the one condition at Liberation. We do not give legal advice, and questions about licensing, shipping or advertising belong with your attorney. What we do is keep the technical side steady so you can run the business. See web hosting for restricted industries for the full list of industries we host.

A seven step plan for the move

Back up now. Download your site files and database, and your product and customer exports, and store them somewhere you control.
Read the notice for the deadline. Then tell us the date when you contact us.
Choose a plan. Shared hosting suits most small sites, WordPress hosting suits stores that change often, and private cloud suits busy stores.
Let us build the new site. Our Migration Team copies it over and checks that it works.
Test before you switch. Click through pages, forms and checkout on the new server.
Point your domain at the new host. Keep the old host running until the new site takes orders cleanly.
Secure the rest. Move email onto your own domain, and review payment processing separately so one change never takes down both.

Keep it from happening again

Keep your domain name at a registrar you control, separate from your host.
Keep a recent backup of your site and customer list on your own storage.
Use email on your own domain, not a free mailbox. See 2A friendly private email.
Keep your mailing list in a format you can export. See 2A friendly email marketing.
