Get started →How transfers workDirect primary care runs on direct communication — texts and emails with members about labs, visit notes, and billing, often outside a traditional EHR portal. A consumer inbox doesn’t come with a BAA, so anything touching a patient record over email is a real exposure. HIPAA email direct primary care setup means encrypted mailboxes and a signed Business Associate Agreement that match how a membership practice actually communicates, in line with the HHS HIPAA rules that govern how that information can move.

Mail Pro is $7.95 per mailbox per month, comes with a signed BAA, and moves your practice onto encrypted, U.S.-owned infrastructure. Migration from your current provider is free. That’s the full HIPAA email direct primary care price — no hidden setup fees.
Every message at rest and in transit is encrypted, with audit logging your practice can hand a HIPAA reviewer without extra setup.
You get an actual, signed Business Associate Agreement — not a terms-of-service clause that mentions HIPAA in passing.
Membership tiers, pricing, and a sign-up flow, built to explain the DPC model to patients new to it.
Nothing here requires a new IT hire — the migration team moves your existing mailboxes and DNS, and your staff keeps their same addresses.
Built on the same platform as your email, so membership sign-up, a patient FAQ, and billing links all sit under one login instead of three separate vendors.
Encrypted email for lab results and visit notes members can trust with their own health information.
Send membership renewal and billing notices without routing sensitive detail through a consumer inbox.
Add a mailbox in minutes as the practice grows — no minimum seat count to start.
Per-mailbox pricing, billed monthly, with a written quote for anything larger than a standard rollout.
Starting prices, billed monthly unless noted. Anything larger gets a written quote.
Yes — a real, signed Business Associate Agreement comes with every Mail Pro account, not just a mention in the terms of service. That signed BAA is the core of any HIPAA email direct primary care setup.
Yes, free of charge. Our migration team moves your mail, contacts, and DNS records; your staff keeps their existing addresses. Migrating to a proper HIPAA email direct primary care setup costs nothing extra.
Yes — there’s no minimum seat count, so a single-provider DPC practice can start with one mailbox. A HIPAA email direct primary care setup scales the same way whether you’re solo or running a full membership panel.
No. Plans are month-to-month and you can cancel anytime.
Book a call and we’ll walk through your current setup, the migration timeline, and a written quote — no obligation.
HIPAA generally reaches providers who transmit certain transactions electronically, which in practice usually means insurance claims. A direct primary care practice that bills no insurance at all may fall outside it. That is a real distinction worth establishing with your counsel early, because it changes which vendor promises you actually need and which are being sold to you for comfort.
It changes less than it sounds, though. Your patients’ records are no less sensitive for being outside a particular statute, state medical privacy law still applies, and a membership practice lives or dies on trust. Most DPC practices end up choosing to operate to the HIPAA standard regardless, which is a defensible position — just make it a decision rather than an assumption.
What is genuinely different is the messaging. DPC sells access, so patients text and email their physician directly and expect an answer. That makes the communication channel a clinical system, not an administrative one. Decide what may go through it, whether messages become part of the record, and what happens to them when a membership ends.
Membership billing is the other distinctive piece. Recurring payments that fail silently are lost revenue and an awkward conversation, so card expiry handling, retry behaviour and whether patients can update their own details matter more here than on a claims-billing practice.
