Team Collaboration and Productivity

Choosing the tools a team will actually use, and replacing the ones it will not.

Most teams do not have a tooling problem, they have an overlap problem. Chat, files, video, tasks and documents arrive from four vendors, each duplicating a third of the others, and nobody can say where a decision was recorded. The useful question is not which tool is best but how few you can get away with.

These guides cover choosing collaboration and project tools, replacing the large-platform suites, and the productivity habits that make any of it work.

Where LiberationTek fits

Hub for Teams is our collaboration suite — chat, video, files, calendars and documents — running on infrastructure we operate ourselves, so the account is not subject to a platform’s policy changes.

Frequently asked questions

As few as will cover chat, meetings, files and tasks — often one suite plus one specialist tool. Every additional product adds a place where information can be filed and then lost, which is a bigger cost than the licence.

History. Chat archives, shared files and task records rarely migrate cleanly. Plan for a period where the old tool is read-only and the new one is live, rather than trying to move everything in one weekend.

If work has dependencies, deadlines and more than a couple of people, yes. If it does not, a shared list inside your existing suite is enough, and adopting a project tool for a team that does not need one usually means the tool quietly stops being updated.

Chat and video that work reliably on poor connections, file sharing your staff will actually use, and an export path. Feature lists rarely decide it; whether the team opens the tool on day thirty does.

Turn the old one off on a date everybody knows, move the information people need into the new one first, and make sure the team’s decisions are being recorded there. Tools fail on adoption far more often than on features.
