What kind of Weebly alternative is it

Weebly is a drag-and-drop website builder that is now owned by Square. Liberation Site Builder is a drag-and-drop website builder from Liberation Technology Services, a US-based company that runs it on its own network. As a Weebly alternative it offers a similar editing experience with 200+ templates, e-commerce, forms, booking and blogs, plus hosting, SSL and a free domain included.

What this Weebly alternative includes

Based on what we describe on our website builder page:

More than 200 professional templates, or a blank canvas.
A drag-and-drop editor with 40+ widgets and settings.
E-commerce, forms, booking, blogs and multiple languages.
Sites that look right on desktop, tablet and mobile.
Hosting, SSL and a free domain in every annual plan.
Content transfer from most site builder platforms.

If you outgrow the builder, our development team can take over rather than making you start again.

Why people look for a Weebly alternative

People look for a Weebly alternative when they want a builder from an independent company, more templates, or a store that does not tie them to one payment processor. Owners also ask what happens to their site if the platform changes direction.

A second reason is control. A builder that includes hosting and lets you move your content out, with a team that can take over for you, leaves you with options.

A third reason is support. A US-based team that builds and hosts sites every day can answer questions about your site, not just the software.

Build the site, do not rent it back

A website builder should let you build the site, not hold it hostage. Liberation Site Builder runs on our own U.S.-based network, so the site sits on infrastructure we own.

Because we can transfer content from most builders and our team can take over, you are never locked into a single tool.

Weebly vs Liberation Site Builder: a plain comparison

Based on how each product describes itself:

Editing: both are drag-and-drop builders. Liberation Site Builder has 200+ templates.. Hosting: hosting, SSL and a free domain are included in Liberation annual plans.. E-commerce: Liberation includes a store on the E-Commerce+ plan with payment gateways.. Ownership: Liberation is an independent US company, and Weebly is part of Square.. Support: a US-based team that can also design and develop for you.. Migration: we can transfer content from most site builder platforms.. Compare current features and plan limits on both sites before you decide.

Templates that you can make your own

Starting from a professional template saves the hard part of web design, which is deciding where things go. Every Liberation template opens in the editor, where you change the text, photos, colors and layout yourself.

You can also build from a blank canvas, or ask our team to design the site for you.

Hosting, speed and security

Your site is served from the secure Liberation network, with SSL included. Pages are designed to load fast and look right on any device.

Because hosting is part of the product, there is no separate host to set up or pay for.

What you can add without touching code

Site Builder includes the features most business sites need:

An online store with a cart and payment gateways.. Contact forms and booking.. A blog for news and updates.. Custom menus and multiple languages.. Mobile and tablet layouts.. Plans differ in what they include, so choose the plan that matches your needs today and move up later.

Works with what you already have

Liberation Site Builder works with domains you already own. You can point your domain at the new site or register one with us.

If you want more than a builder offers, our web design and development team can build a custom site on the same network.

Moving from Weebly to Liberation Site Builder

Switching is less disruptive than most teams expect. We copy your pages, text and images into a Liberation template, you review the new site, and then you point your domain at it.

Complex custom interactions may need to be rebuilt. Keep your current site live until the new one is approved. If you would like help, our team can run the move.

Who a Weebly alternative is built for

Based on the organizations we serve:

Small businesses that want a site they can edit themselves. Churches, schools and nonprofits. Professional practices such as medical, legal and accounting. Local shops starting to sell online. Independent media and creators. Anyone who wants hosting and a builder from one company. If you would rather run your business than a design tool, a simpler builder with hosting included is often the better fit.

What it costs and how to get started

Liberation Site Builder is sold in plans, with hosting, SSL and a free domain included in annual plans. See the website builder page for current plans and prices.

To get started, pick a template, edit it and publish. If you want help, our team can build the site with you or for you.

Is a Weebly alternative right for you

Choose Liberation if you want a straightforward builder with hosting included, a payment gateway choice, a US-based team and a path to custom development. Stay with Weebly if your store is tightly tied to Square and that setup is working well for you.

Either way, write down what your site must do and who will edit it. A good Weebly alternative should fit both, and our team will tell you honestly whether we do.
