Why People Look For A Gmail Alternative

And What Liberation Email Does Instead

Separate From Your Google Account

Keep email apart from your search history, YouTube, Drive and Photos, so one locked account can't take everything with it.

No Ads In Your Inbox

You pay for the service, so your inbox is never an advertising product.

Your Own Domain From $1.95

Use [email protected], or @liberationmail.com and @liberation.email, without paying for a Google Workspace seat.

What separates one mailbox from another

Mailboxes all look much the same from the inside, so comparisons tend to be about storage quotas — which is the least important variable of the lot. Three things genuinely differ between providers, and all three only become visible when something goes wrong.

The first is whether your mail arrives. Deliverability depends on the authentication records published on your domain — SPF, DKIM and DMARC — and on the sending reputation of the infrastructure behind your mailbox. A provider who sets those up for you and can explain them is worth more than one offering twice the storage. If invoices or password resets have been going missing, this is where to look first.

The second is administrative control: who can reset a password, who can reach a departed employee’s mail, who can create an address for a new hire, and who can demonstrate to a vendor that an address belongs to the company rather than to a person. On a consumer account the answer is one individual and their account recovery options. On a business account on your own domain, the answer is whoever you designate.

The third is what happens at the end. Can you export everything in a standard format, do the addresses move with you because the domain is yours, and is there a contract term holding you in place. A provider worth choosing makes leaving straightforward — which is precisely why it so rarely features in their marketing.

Where we fit: Hub For Teams gives you mailboxes, shared calendars and contacts on your own domain, with the authentication records published properly and support based in the United States. Book a call with a user count and we will set it up around your existing mail rather than on top of it.
